To get an Individual filing extension for Arizona State, you can either:

Apply for a state extension (Form 204). To apply for a state extension, file Arizona Form 204 by April 15. You must attach a copy of the Arizona extension to the back of your return when you file. Also, make sure that you check either box 82D or 82F on page 1 of the return. If you must make a payment, use Arizona Form 204.

Use your federal extension (federal Form 4868). File your Arizona return by the same due date. You do not have to attach a copy of your federal extension to your return, but make sure that you check either box 82D or box 82F on page 1 of the return.

How do I get business state extension for Arizona?


If you were approved for a federal tax extension, then the State of Arizona will automatically grant your business a six-month income tax extension. If your business owes the state money or was not approved for a federal extension, you'll need to submit Arizona tax extension Form 120EXT.

If I file an extension, will I get an extension for paying the taxes I owe?


Filing an Arizona Tax Extension does not grant you more time to pay any tax balance due. Your balance must be paid by your original filing deadline to avoid possible penalties.

What are the Payment options?


The taxpayer must pay at least 90 percent of its tax liability by the original due date of the return. If the estimated tax payments reported on line 2 are less than 90 percent of the amount on line 1, the taxpayer must make an extension payment.

Check or money order
Make checks payable to Arizona Department of Revenue. Write the taxpayer's EIN on the front of the check or money order. Include the check or money order with the extension request.

Internet Payments
Corporate taxpayers must be licensed by the Department of Revenue before they can register to pay taxes online. Visit http://www.aztaxes.gov to register and make payments over the internet.

Electronic payment from checking or savings account
Payments can be made electronically from a checking or savings account. Visit http://www.aztaxes.gov and choose the e-check option. There is no fee to use this method. This payment method will debit the amount from the specified checking or savings account on the date specified. If an electronic payment is made from a checking or savings account, a confirmation number will be generated. Please keep this confirmation number as proof of payment.

Credit card payment
Payments can be made via American Express, Discover, MasterCard or VISA credit cards. Visit http://www.aztaxes.gov and choose the credit card option. This will take you to the website of the credit card payment service provider. The service provider will charge a convenience fee based on the amount of the tax payment. The service provider will disclose the amount of the convenience fee during the transaction and the option to continue or cancel the transaction will be presented. If you accept the convenience fee and complete the credit card transaction, a confirmation number will be generated. Please keep this confirmation number as proof of payment.

How do I get Individual state extension for Arizona?


The State of Arizona will automatically grant you a 6-month tax extension if you were approved for a federal tax extension (Form 4868). However, you need to submit Arizona Form 204 (PDF) if you owe the state money, or if you were not approved for a federal extension.

If paying by check or money order, make your check or money order payable to Arizona Department of Revenue. Write your SSN and 2013 extension on the front of your check or money order. Attach your check to the front of Form 204 where shown.

Electronic payment from your checking or savings account
You can make an electronic payment from your checking or savings account to pay your balance due for 2013. There is no fee to use this method.
To make an electronic payment, go to http://www.aztaxes.gov click on the “Make a Payment” link.
The “E-Check” option in the “Payment Method” drop-down box will debit the amount from the checking or savings account that you specify. If you make an electronic payment from your checking or savings account, you will receive a confirmation number.

Credit card payment
You can pay with your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express credit card. Go to http://www.aztaxes.gov click on the “Make a Payment” link and choose the credit card option. This will take you to a third party vendor site.
The provider will charge you a convenience fee based on the amount of your tax payment. The service provider will tell you what the fee is during the transaction; you will have the option to continue or cancel the transaction. If you complete the credit card transaction, you will receive a confirmation number. Please keep this confirmation number as proof of payment.
